Pierce is a senior financial advisory and former senior executive in investment banking and oil and gas companies in US, Russia/CIS and Central and Eastern European markets.  Pierce has over 26 years' experience in banking and oil and gas sectors.  He has managed complicated cross-border transactions with a total value exceeding USD 1 billion in value.

Pierce is currently the CEO of Kirby Group Advisory, Boston, USA (kirbygroupadvisory.com) ("KGA").  DCS and KGA have a strategic cooperation agreement in place with respect to certain advisory services offered in the oil and gas and technology sectors.  At KGA and as an affiliate within DCS, Pierce focuses on advising US and EU investors and Fortune 500 companies on cross-border Russian/CIS/CEE business development, transaction structure and structured financing, related to the up-stream, mid-stream and down-stream oil and gas segments.  Pierce also currently focuses on start-up and early-stage growth companies in the technology sector (Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality).

Formerly as an Executive Director at Raiffeisen Bank International AG in Vienna, Austria ("RBI"), Pierce built an Oil & Gas coverage business within the M&A team of RBI. The core geographical focus of the RBI Oil & Gas team was Russia, CIS, CEE, China, Europe and Africa. The main product focus was cross-border M&A and capital raising with respect to oil & gas transactions.  While at RBI Pierce lead transactions including the sale of upstream oil and gas assets in Albania, farm-in transaction in Tajikistan, down-stream transaction in Ukraine , E&P transactions in Africa and Middle East.

Prior to RBI, Pierce had a long career, where he held executive positions at Alternative Fuels, Inc. (USA), e2e materials (USA), Gazprom Tambeyneftegaz (Russia), Novatek (Russia/UK/Germany), .  Richard also currently remains on the VIS board of directors.  Pierce also worked as a financial advisor or business development manager at e2e materials (USA), Pacific Energy Development (USA), Magellan Petroleum (USA), BNP Paribas (France), Unicredit (Russia), Proteus (Kazakhstan), Texaco (Russia) and Alex Brown & Co. (USA).

Pierce holds a Masters of International Energy and Politics from Glasgow University (UK).
